RYA Windsurfing Youth Stage 1 (Coastal)

Stage 1 is an ideal introduction, teaching you the basics of getting on the water and sailing the board across the wind and back.

Course content: All fun no theory. Get on the water and discover windsurfing. We'll get you up and sailing around in no time

Pre-course experience: None

Assumed knowledge: None

Ability after course: You will be able to sail to a chosen point on the water and return to where you started in light winds

Duration: 2 days (can be done as a series of half days)

Group size: Maximum 6 in a group

Restrictions: Participants must be confident in open water

Age: 8 - 16
If any of the participants are under 18 years of age the parent or guardian must sign on their behalf on the booking form

Clothing required: Please bring with you suitable clothing for the time of year and weather conditions. Jeans and Wellington boots are not suitable and you will not be permitted to take part wearing these items. Footwear is NOT provided and you are required to bring trainers or aqua shoes to wear.
Showers and changing facilities are provided on site.

Special information: West Wales Wind Surf and Sailing is situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and there is plenty for the spectator to do

Meal Arrangements: There is a café serving hot and cold meals within the centre building. There is also a waterside pub (although it is recommended not to drink alcohol whilst participating in Watersports). There are plenty of places to enjoy a packed lunch.

Weather Restrictions: All courses will proceed according to the weather conditions on the day and if it is safe to do so

Other information: Dale has excellent water quality and is a blue flag beach
