Course content: Provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes and for racing or training activities. Includes boat handling, towing, fleet management, rescue techniques for sailing dinghies, windsurfers and canoes .
Pre-course experience: RYA level 2 certificate must be held prior to this course
Assumed knowledge: Basic understanding of sailing boats and windsurfters
Ability after course: Able to provide safety cover to a range of craft, particularlrly sailing or windsurfing. If you are aiming to be in a position where you will be in charge of the safety of others on the water this is the ideal course for you.
Duration: 2 days 0930 - 1630

Restrictions: Participants must be confident in open water
Age: 16 and over
If any of the participants are under 18 years of age the parent or guardian must sign on their behalf on the booking form
Clothing required: Please bring with you suitable clothing for the time of year and weather conditions. Jeans and Wellington boots are not suitable and you will not be permitted to take part wearing these items. Footwear is NOT provided and you are required to bring trainers or aqua shoes to wear.
Showers and changing facilities are provided on site.
Special information: West Wales Wind Surf and Sailing is situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and there is plenty for the spectator to do
Meal Arrangements: There is a café serving hot and cold meals within the centre building. There is also a waterside pub (although it is recommended not to drink alcohol whilst participating in Watersports). There are plenty of places to enjoy a packed lunch.
Weather Restrictions: The course will go ahead only if it is safe to do so
Other information: Dale has excellent water quality and is a blue flag beach.
